Each year on March 8th the world celebrates International Women’s Day. The day aims to celebrate the achievements of women and highlight the issues that are working against gender parity.
Each year International Women’s Day grows and takes on a new theme. This year’s theme is Generation Equality. The theme encourages increasing visibility and equality for women and their full participation in the economy, politics, community and everyday life.

Darwin

The city of Darwin will once again be marching this International Women’s Day. Head down to the Civic Centre at 8:30 this Saturday to march in support of women around the world. Afterwards, a community celebration will be held at Civic Park.
So, bring the family along with you and have a day out at the park. Local vendors and food trucks will be there to keep you fed and happy throughout the day.

Sydney

Sydney hosted Australia’s first International Women’s Day march in 1929, and it has grown ever since! Join the march and stand in solidarity with women around the world.
There are plenty of free activities for you to get around across the city. From free yoga in the park to art exhibitions and family fun, there is an abundance to get out and enjoy!

Melbourne

Head to the MCG for an awesome day of cricket and entertainment. The 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Final is on in Melbourne this International Women’s Day and it’s sure to be an amazing day out. Watch as the best cricketers in the world battle it out for the coveted World Cup trophy.
