The age-old debate about which Australian city has the best weather.
Some say Brisbane, some say Perth, no one ever says Melbourne… but the winner is Sydney.
Sunny days and perfect temperatures
Sydney is known for its beautiful weather, unlike its counterpart, Melbourne. Depending on the season, temperatures vary, however, generally the temperatures are more than bearable in winter and never too hot in summer. In summer, the temperature averages in the mid to high 20’s, with winter reaching around 12 degrees during the day. The days are generally full of blue skies and sunny afternoons, making it a lovely holiday destination to explore the outdoors.
What to do during all these beautiful days
There is honestly so many outdoors activities to do in Sydney and there is something to suit everyone. We have compiled a short list of absolute must do’s while visiting the city, that will allow you to make the most of its unbelievable weather!

Approximately 4 kilometres of absolutely pristine panoramic ocean views, parks, beaches and so much more. This trail is a must see when the weather is shining. Follow the trail along the sandstone cliffs, stopping along the way to admire the views at many of the vantage points. Be sure to keep an eye out for whales and dolphins that are known to be seen swimming in the area.
2. Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge
Undoubtedly one of Australia’s most iconic landmarks, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is the perfect place to explore on a typical sunny day in Sydney. This is a unique experience where you will be able to see spectacular views and learn all about the history of Sydney from one of the friendly and informative guides. There are several options to choose from when climbing the bridge, with prices, duration, and routes varying.
3. Relax in the Royal Botanical Gardens
The Royal Botanic Gardens is situated near some of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a picnic on a lovely summer’s day while admiring the beauty of Sydney and all that it holds. The gardens stretch over 30 acres and there is an abundance of places to explore within.
4. Jump aboard the historic Manly Ferry
Connecting the Sydney CBD and the northern suburb of Manly, the ferry runs several times through out the day and will take you through the harbour, where you can admire the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House along the way. The trip takes around 40 minutes.
5. Admire the views and have a drink at the Opera Bar
As the name suggests the Opera Bar is located just next to the Sydney Opera House and guarantees some of the most breathtaking views of the city.
